The Comcast Assurance and Advisory Team (CAAT) is a partner to Comcast's individual businesses and performs projects (engagements) year-round to help these groups understand and manage risks to their business and technology. The CAAT Platforms and Devices Team is comprised of hardworking, motivated, and technically-skilled professionals who deliver the highest possible work quality in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment. The ideal candidate is committed to working with our business partners to develop cost-effective and innovative solutions. The Engagement Manager plays a leading role in all phases of the engagement lifecycle (i.e., planning, execution, reporting, and wrap-up), demonstrates professional curiosity, has a continuous improvement mindset, and possesses the desire/aptitude to rapidly learn new skills. Individuals in this role are comfortable with changes in workload and/or focus of work and modify actions to suit business needs. The candidate will also exemplify the highest degree of trust and integrity by continually upholding CAAT's core principles and professional standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • The Platforms and Devices Engagement Manager's primary responsibilities will be focused on leading engagements related to:
    • Emerging Technologies (e.g., Mobile, Cloud)
    • Server, Database, and end-user device build and configurations
    • Infrastructure design and architecture
    • Performance and Capacity Management
    • Event and Outage Management
    • Data Center Management
    • Measurement, reporting, and benefits realization
  • Leads engagement planning, execution, and reporting activities including:
    • Assigns research of new technologies, existing processes, and recognized service management frameworks
    • Interfaces with clients to identify and understand potential risk areas
    • Leads efforts to define final scope and approach of each engagement
    • Reviews staff documentation for appropriate detail and ensures results of testing or data analysis are supported
    • Provides guidance and/or challenge staff's conclusions on risks/issues identified
    • Develops relevant, value-added recommendations to help address risks/issues identified
    • Clearly articulates the status and project results, both orally and in written form, to internal management and the client
    • Creates timely, high-quality reports for the project client
    • Operates effectively and with minimal supervision, if needed
  • Coaches staff and helps them resolve issues with client management.
  • Provides guidance and feedback (e.g., development points) to staff.
  • Pursues continuous professional development through internal/external training, certifications and/or continuing education.
  • Shares knowledge gained through previous experience and engagements performed with other staff members.
  • Performs special projects and related duties, as assigned.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement to engagement methodology, department tools, and training curriculum.
  • May informally coach and supervise individual staff.
  • Actively participates in Comcast and other external community activities / service.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.


Educational, experience, and skill requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Information Security, or a related discipline with solid academic credentials.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Systems administration, systems architecture and management of technical staff experience preferred.
  • Understanding of infrastructure components, including: servers, operating systems, data storage (e.g., SANs, databases), directory services (Active Directory), and basic networking concepts.
  • Technical knowledge of virtualization/cloud/mobile technology (e.g., VMware, Open-Stack, Microsoft, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, MDM platforms).
  • Basic knowledge and/or experience participating in the development of IT strategy, budgets, or capacity plans.
  • Experience with data center operations with exposure to data center environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment with strong inherent project management skills, including: prioritizing tasks, balancing workload between multiple projects, anticipating next steps, adapting to changing situations and project scope.
  • Willingness and genuine desire to tackle new areas and consistently challenging topics.
  • Able to quickly grasp complex subject matter (both technical and business processes) and apply strong analytical skills and business orientation to assessing processes, risks and controls.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required, including: written and verbal communications, willingness to assist in areas outside of direct assignments when necessary, and commitment to self-improvement and completion of department objectives.
  • Professional certification is a plus (e.g., Microsoft, Unix, ITIL, CompTIA, CISA).
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Ability to travel up to 25-35% annually.
  • Exposure to internal audit, compliance or other internal control functions (including automation used in these functions) is a plus, but not required.
