Google Rolls Out New Photos And Drive App

Google Photos are the best way to backup all of your photos and videos and keep them safe in one place and to access them from anywhere you want. But up until now, it was only available for smart phones and tablets.

While there were standalone clients for PC’s and you can also access it through the web version, it was still not as fluid and seamless as the Google Photos in the smartphones.

So to solve this, Google has now officially rolled out a Backup and Sync App For Photos as well as Google Drive for both Windows and Mac OS. The app is now available for download from here and you can install it right away.

The best thing about this app is that it allows you to backup all your photos and videos irrespective of where they are. You have to just install the app and set it up and then Google will now automatically do the backup.

If you select to backup the photos on any external devices like your pen drive, your camera or your external hard disk, Google Photos app will automatically detect whenever you connect these devices to your computer and will begin to backup the new photos or videos.

Here is how to do it:

Step 1:

As already said, download the Google Photos app from the link below

Step 2:

The app will now begin to download and will install on your computer.

Once the installation is complete, just open the app from your start menu.

Step 3:

The setting up process is very simple.

Enter your email id and password of the account where you want to back up your files.

Step 4:

You can either choose only to backup photos and videos or if you choose all files, then Google will backup other formats too like audio, documents etc.

Step 5:

This is the most important step where you have to choose from where should Google Photos backup your files.

Be sure to select all the location where your files are and also connect any external device you have to select them also, this way your files could automatically be backed up whenever you plug in these devices.

That’s all, you have successfully setup the Google Photos app in your computer and all your files will now be safe and secure and could be accessed from anywhere and at any time.

The procedure for backing up your files using the Google Drive app is also the same.

You can download that from the below link.

Provided you have an internet connection of course.

Let us know in the comments if you are stuck at some step and share this article with your friends to let them know that they can also back up their files now from their computer and save them from the fear of their hard drive getting corrupted.
