6 New Android Apps By Google You Simply Can’t Miss

Previously, we covered 5 lesser-known Android apps by Google that you probably haven’t heard of. This time, I am going to introduce newer apps by Google that you might have missed if you weren’t keeping yourself updated.

Although Google has launched many apps recently, but my focus is on regular apps that everyone can easily install and use. Therefore, I am not adding the recent augmented reality apps after the launch of Google ARCore SDK that are limited to a few flagship devices. Without further ado, let’s check out 6 new Android apps by Google that you will surely find useful.

1. Files Go

Last year, Files Go started quite an uproar even when it wasn’t officially launched, and I also didn’t give a second thought while adding it to my list of truly free Android apps. Rightly so, File Go is probably the best storage manager app you can find on Google Play Store. With a strict focus on cleaning the phone from junk and securely transferring data between two devices, the app lets you see all the data on your phone in a single intuitive place.

Files Go uses filters to organize your data which makes it much easier to pinpoint the type of file you want. Its smart recommendations are also very handy for cleaning up unrequired data.

2. Selfissimo!

If you are a selfie maniac, you’ll surely love this app. Selfissimo! lets you take selfies just my striking a pose. Just start a shootout and change your poses as you like. The app will take a picture every time it detects you have changed your pose. All the pictures can be individually saved, or you can save/share the whole session. The app also has few face tune-up options to beautify your selfies in a realistic way.

Do keep in mind that it’s an experimental app and it may not work perfectly depending on your device.

3. YouTube Go

You don’t have to look for YouTube video downloaders anymore, Google has an official YouTube video downloader now. YouTube Go is a YouTube video downloader that has been specifically created for users with limited bandwidth and phone resources. It’s an extremely light app that lets you search YouTube and download them for offline viewing.

The downloaded videos are played right inside the YouTube Go app. You can also specify how many MBs you can spare for video watching/downloading, and the downloaded videos can also be shared offline.

4. Datally

Another app with a focus on saving mobile data. Datally helps you monitor your mobile data usage and control it by adding limits. It lets you see your per-app basis data usage and individually restrict how much data each app is allowed to you.

It will also remind you to turn on the data saver, and if the data is draining fast, it will send a notification along with the name of the app that is consuming the data. Apart from data saving, it also helps you find nearby Wi-Fi networks so you won’t have to depend on mobile data at all.

5. Toontastic 3D

Although, not one of the most recently launched apps like others on this list, but it’s definitely one of the most popular apps launched by Google last year. Toontastic 3D is a storytelling app specifically made for kids. Kids can draw their own characters and animate them with just a touch. There are options to record an animated video along with your own recorded sounds to tell a story the way you want.

6. Storyboard

A dead simple app to let you create comics out of your videos. You just need to add a video and Storyboard will add a filter to make a comic out of it. There aren’t many customization options. You just need to select the filter and layout you like, and Storyboard will automatically create a comic with different video frames.

So these were some interesting apps that were launched by Google in the last few months. I personally use Files Go, YouTube Go, and Datally. And I must say Google is doing a fine job of sticking to its promise of offering high-quality products. Which one of these new apps by Google did you like? Share with us in the comments below.
