Edward Snowden Gets Employment At Major Russian Website
Well-known whistleblower Edward Snowden, responsible for leaking information on the US government’s spying practices, has secured a job with a “major” Russian website.
Snowden, who is still on the run from the US government, is hiding at a secret location in Russia. His lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena, informed a Russian news agency of his new position, which is apparently a “technical support” role. However, who in particular is employing Snowden or what his duties will be, has not been revealed.
There has been speculation that Russia’s own form of Facebook, VK, is the company willing to take the whistleblower. It offered Snowden a job back in August and according to his lawyer is one of many offers of work that Snowden has received since receiving asylum approval from the Russian authorities.
Now that Snowden has been able to settle in Russia, no doubt his main concern is finding a way to support himself and begin to rebuild his life after everything that has happened since the revelations concerning the NSA program.
