How can I remove Google Hangouts which was preinstalled on my Android phone?

The Google Hangouts app is causing an issue with a messaging app I use. I was on the phone with an AT&T’s tech person many times today trying to figure that out. She mentioned that the app can be uninstalled. I tried to do this but found out that it was pre-installed onto my phone and therefore cannot initially be uninstalled because it is a system app.

I thought I would ask the gurus here on MakeUseOf to see if anyone else is having the same issue on their Android phone… so, is there a workaround to uninstall this app?

I’m a total noob, just figuring out all the cool stuff I’ve been missing. I have a tablet PC with a dual-core Allwinner a-13 7″ Android jelly bean 4.2.2.

I managed to get rooted, on a one click, no computer web-site before bothering to check out what all is involved. My file manager says I have root. However, I cannot flash ROMs. Looking into things I tried to install twrp recovery. Long story… I no longer can access my factory(e3) recovery, no matter which method I try – tablet Willingboro into recovery mode… using ROM manager or auto flash apps just reboots. Same with manual key method. Can you guys help an old dog learn a new trick?

What software would you recommend for producing a business newsletter?

I would like to create a business newsletter 3 times a year for an organization called Art in Giving. My time is very limited. I tried to use Publisher but find it a bit challenging. Would you have a recommendation for an easy to use tool that is not too expensive?

How can I get the driver for NVidia drivers working again on Windows 8?

Format: Laptop

Device Make: ASUS

Device Model: N56J

OS: Windows 8

When we updated to Windows 8.1 and rebooted the device we noticed that 8 GB of memory was not visible and the NVidia card was no longer on the computer. We have contacted ASUS for support but they just had us roll back to Windows 8.0 and it was working back as normal. Now we got up this morning and it is doing the same thing. We called ASUS back and did a system restore for 3 days back when it was working but that didn’t seem to fix the issue. We would be very grateful for any suggestions because when we called ASUS back a 3rd time they told us to contact Newegg where we got the laptop, but we have not called them yet.
