Why are some videos on my external hard drive not listed on my TV?

http://ift.tt/1iZHv9S

I have a 1 TB Seagate Expansion drive that up until yesterday had about 40 odd movies on it, visible on my desktop computer, laptop & Panasonic smart TV. Yesterday I added more movies to it, they are visible on my desktop & laptop but not the TV, the only ones still visible on the tele are the original ones, any ideas?? I have checked various online forums & most tell me I have to reformat the drive, which is fine but I would be gutted if I lost the movies. Any assistance would be appreciated
