Troubleshoot any phone remotely using this Android app

If you’ve ever had your parents or a loved one call you in the middle of the day complaining about how the phone isn’t working properly or battery is draining too fast, you’re in luck. You no longer have to talk on the phone for 30 minutes at a time trying to get the other person to enumerate & recount what they’re seeing. Now, you can simply use an app to share the screens and touch to guide them.

Inkwire is an app developed by the celebrated & prominent Android developer Koushik Dutta who’s behind apps like Helium, Vysor & Allcast. It’s a super simple that that lets you see what the other person is seeing in real time with almost to no lag depending on the phone’s hardware.

 

If you’re the person troubleshooting, all you have to do is get the access code from the person in need. Then, once you enter the code, you’re set to see what’s going on at the other end. One of the standout features of this app is the ability to use the phone’s microphone to communicate with each other. Of course, due to security reasons, you can’t actually remotely control the device from your end. The app instead transmits your touch location to the other side. The app is completely free without any ads or in-app purchases at the time of writing this article. It’s very light on permissions (only WiFi & microphone). I highly recommend you install this app for anyone who relies on you solely for tech support beforehand so that you can skip having to explain how to install the app in the first place.
