Google Tez UPI Payments Platform Launched in India
UPI, which stands for Unified Payments Interface has been one of the latest platforms for digital payments in India. UPI facilitates quick and easy transfer of money between two bank accounts. The service has been particularly popular since the demonetization drive of last year. Google joined the party today as they launched their latest app for the Indian smartphone markets: Google Tez.
We reported last week that Google is working on a new application which would help promote UPI in India. The app was launched today in New Delhi at a high profile event attended by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The app is available for Android as well as iOS users.
The app comes with many innovative new features which make it distinct from other similar apps such as PhonePe and BHIM. The biggest difference here is one ‘Cash Mode’ which facilitates proximity based transfer of money.
If you want to pay for shopping at a store with Google Tez, simply use the ‘Cash Mode’ where you press on pay and the seller will press ‘Receive’. Your phone will then emit an audio signal which will be intercepted by Google Tez users nearby. You will then see a list of active Tez users and you can select the person you want to pay.
This makes payments easy and you won’t even have to provide your Virtual Private Address or any personal details to those you’re looking forward to pay. Moreover, the app is quite secure too and it comes with ‘Tez Shield’ which promises a strong security. There’s also 24/7 support available for the app over the phone or over chat.
Google has come out with a number of launch offers –
- If you refer the app to your friend, both of you get Rs. 51.
- When you make a payment to any user for the first time, both of you get scratch cards of value of up to Rs. 1000
- Upon making your first payment of more than Rs. 100, you would be eligible to enter into a draw where you stand to win up ot Rs. 1,00,000.

Wrike’s Integration with Google Products
No matter the size or age of a business or organisation, there are going to be day-to-day and on-going tasks that need to be done and in a fast paced environment like today’s, it’s increasingly easy to let time get away from you.
The need for an effective, high-performance time tracking tool for project management has been increasing in the last couple of years, especially considering the new spate of technology and processes that are now being implemented across companies.
Despite the plethora of project management tools and timeline software that have been released onto the market, most of them fall short of Wrike’s capabilities, especially when it comes to a larger business or company.
“Wrike has single handedly redefined efficiency for our company!
Easy of Use! Value! It’s hard to even explain how valuable Wrike has been for us. We were easily able to create step by steps tasks for our projects to help keep everyone on time. The software has features for any occasion and project to help streamline efficiency. It has more than paid for itself in the short time we have been using it.” Derek Estrada
Wrike is all-in-one, web based project management software that allows companies to keep track of their projects’ progress through a visual timeline that can be edited, it helps to deliver priority projects by accelerating them by linking with all the tasks, files, emails and discussion around the most important project plans.
Companies such as Paypal and Hootsuite now use the tool to manage their project scheduling, and they believe that the integrated time tracking and real-time views of digital projects sets Wrike apart from the rest of the project management tools that have come onto the market recently.
If we could name only one thing that makes Wrike really make it stand out from other task management tools, what would it be? Undoubtedly it’s the seamless integration that it has with other software and tools – Google products in particular. Have a look at the way that Wrike integrates with the world’s favourite search engine and its products.
Google Products Integration:
One of Wrike’s best features is the strength and variety of its extensions and integrations with essential office and company platforms. A recent addition to its already impressive integration list is that of the most popular Google products and Wrike is now able to work with:
- Google Chrome extension
- Google Apps
- Google Docs
- G Suite
These are the details on how each platform integrates with the tool and what it is capable of doing:
Google Chrome extension
Building a bridge between Wrike and any other browser-based tool is now possible due to the recent Google Chrome extension. It allows you to essentially bookmark interesting pages and discuss it with your team – the extension can be used as a discussion thread internally. You can also easily be directed to items you need or want, track them online or even take screenshot of prices of the product.
All items in Wrike have a unique URL and this can be used with the Google Chrome Extension to save, share and track timelines, lists, reports and other items that are in the pipeline.
G Suite
G Suite is the Google Cloud’s set of intelligent Google apps that are being increasingly used in office spaces to help connect employees, clients, colleagues and other people in the company throughout the world. These intelligent apps include Gmail, Docs, Drive and Calendar.
This is how the Wrike integration works in detail with each particular app in the G Suite:
Google Apps
There are three main features as a result of the integration of Wrike and Google Apps, and these can all be incredibly handy for the management of your projects without ever leaving your Google account.
You can now attach Google Drive documents straight into your Wrike tasks, as well as your desktop, Dropbox and Box files. This helps to eliminate miscommunication within your teams.
The Gmail gadget in Wrike allows you to turn emails into tasks, which can be scheduled, assigned and managed through just a few clicks.
Wrike can also integrate with Google Calendar and all your tasks from the platform will show in the tool and vice versa.
Google Drive
Google Drive is a file storage application that lets you store up to 15GB of documents for free. Shared users can view, edit, and collaborate on documents in real-time from home, work, or across the world.
As mentioned earlier, the integration allows you to attach documents and tasks directly from your Drive. This helps with communication, keeping track of tasks and also saves your space by doing tasks in Drive instead of on Wrike itself.

How to Remove Specific Autocomplete Suggestions in Chrome
If you’re as annoyed by Chrome picking up on typos for autosuggestions as I am, this little tip will come in handy for removing those suggestions, be it keywords or URLs directly from the address bar. It certainly beats clearing your entire browsing history.

Delete Chrome’s Autocomplete Entries From the URL Bar
On the desktop, it’s as simple as using the following keyboard shortcuts to delete entries.
Step 1: Start typing in the keyword or URL till you spot the suggestion you wish to delete.
Step 2: Use the arrow keys to highlight the specific suggestion.
Step 3: Pressing the respective keyboard shortcuts will eliminate the suggestions immediately.
Windows & Linux: Shift + Delete
macOS: Shift + Delete (if your keyboard is equipped with a Delete key)
Otherwise press, Fn + Shift + Backspace (works on most modern devices)
Demo:
Although this keyboard shortcut works, if Google would enable a simple right-click action with a remove button, it would simplify things greatly and make the process faster.
On mobile devices running Chrome for Android, it’s much simpler. Simply long press the suggestion to invoke a pop-up box. Then press OK to remove it from your history.
One thing to note for both desktop and mobile users is that this method is only for removing autocomplete suggestions based on your browsing history. If you’ve saved a specific URL as a bookmark or would like to remove Google’s default suggestions this method isn’t suitable for those tasks.
