Project Fi Exclusive Moto X4 Launched as an Android One Device in the US
Google’s Project Fi is the company’s attempt at tapping into the markets of pre-paid carriers. While it hasn’t been among the most successful of their projects, Google continues to push it. The latest such effort today led to the announcement of Project Fi exclusive Moto X4 Android One smartphone.
The Moto X4 was announced earlier this month at the IFA 2017. However back then the US was not one of the countries where the phone was made available. However it is now official that the Moto X4 would indeed come to the US – and it would come as an Android One smartphone.
Google’s Android One Project began in 2014 and was almost dead on arrival. However in 2017 Google gave a renewed push to the project with the launch of Xiaomi’s Mi A1 and now the Moto X4. Following the acquisition of their Pixel team, HTC too is expected to release an Android One device – HTC U11 Life.
Let us now take a look at the specifications of the Moto X4:
Moto X4 Specifications
Motorola’s gen-next Moto X smartphone comes out into the markets with a 5.3 inched IPS display. It runs on the Android Nougat OS but is expected to soon get an Android Oreo update. Google also promised that the Android P OS update too, would be coming to this phone next year.
The Moto X4 Android One Device comes with a guaranteed upgrade to Android P OS.
The phone Runs on 3GB of RAM and is powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor. However, one of the biggest attractions is the dual cameras on the back. The phone comes out with a dual-camera setup of 12MP+8MP on the back, as well as a 16MP camera on the front along with a front-facing flash.
The Moto X4 comes out into the markets in two color variants – Super Black and Sterling Blue. The phone is priced in at $399 and will be exclusive to the Project Fi network.
