Google Photos is among one of the most popular Google products ever created. It gives an easy and fast way to share photos online, as well as store them on the cloud. However, as easy as it is to share photos over Google Photos, sharing videos can be a little difficult, especially if you are on a slow internet connection.
With the quality of videos on modern day smartphones getting better, the size of videos is constantly on the rise. This makes it a pain to upload and share them. However, Google Photos has now come out with a solution for this which will allow you to share videos faster.
Google ensures faster sharing by uploading a low resolution variant of the video first, which will then be followed by the high resolution video. By uploading the low resolution video variant first, Google ensures that videos are online faster.
This might seem like a small change for most users but it really is a significant change, especially for those who like to share videos frequently. Google talked about this new feature in their changelog where they said:
We’ve reduced the wait time for sharing videos in Google Photos by uploading low-res copies for sharing, and later replacing them with the high-res versions.
This update is live on the latest version of Google Photos and all you need to do to get this is to update your app. This is a really cool update from Google. In a short span of time, Google Photos has come a long way. The app continues to get a number of updates from Google from time to time.
Google photos is becoming smarter with every passing day. While this update allows users to upload and share videos faster, there have been other updates aimed at improving the Machine Learning mechanism which helps identify people and objects from the photos. Stay tuned with us for more updates on this app from Google.

Today, even 5 year olds have their own smartphone – giving them an early access to internet. However, it isn’t always a wise decision to give access to an internet enabled smartphone to kids as they might come across content that might have a bad effect on them. Google Family Link solves this problem.
In times like these it is essential that we make sure our kids do not fall prey to unwanted content. Google Family Link allows you to monitor your kids smartphone usage and set certain restrictions on their phones.
The world of smartphone technology is an interesting one. It has changed the way we interact with technology.Google Family Link allows parents to keep a tab on their kids’ smartphone usage.
Family Link app from Google was an invite-only app for the past few months. However the app is now live for all Android and iOS users now. The parents phone can be any Android or iOS device but the child’s phone needs to be running Android Nougat or above.
Here’s what the Family Link can do:
Every time your child will try to download a new app or game on his phone, you will get a notification asking if you want to allow that. If it is content that you feel your child is safe to download, you can allow it, or you can deny permission.
Parents will also be able to restrict some sort of content – certain search keywords can be blocked altogether. Even Google Search results as well as websites on Google Chrome can be filtered. Parents can also restrict the download of certain apps.
Google Family Link app also allows you to set a ‘bedtime’ for your kids – which means that they will not be able to use their phone from a certain time to a certain time. This is also useful during exam times which will ensure that your kids aren’t using the phone while they’re studying.
Parents will also be able to monitor the smartphone usage and screen-on time of their kids. They can even get weekly and monthly activity reports.
