New Google Search Tool Will Help Find Trusted, Verified Home Service People

Getting things fixed is a pain in the neck. Especially if you’re planning to get it done online. The Google Local Services program does a background check on all employees, which includes criminal record, proper licensing and insurances.

Moreover, Google is so confident on this new Local Services program that they are even offering a money-back guarantee if the contractor messes up. This has been termed as ‘Google Guarantee’ and the money will be returned to you straight via Google. Google is really confident on this program and it is expected to reach 30 US cities by the end of the year.

Google will ensure that companies which have a better reputation, good service and are known for honest employees rank better on search. The verified badges automatically give a boost in credibility to these contractors.

This is indeed a good service from Google and a step towards better advertising. This will ensure that dishonest, overcharging companies who are not known for their service do not make way to the top of search rankings by means of promoting via Google ads as they won’t be given the badge of honor.

Google Play Store Update To Introduce Audiobooks, New Notifications Center

The Google Play Store is where you head to when you want to download new apps and games. However, there’s more to the play store than just apps and games. It consists of books, movies and music too. Books have been a core part of the Google Play Store ever since the days when it was called ‘Android Market’. A new Google Play Store update is all set to introduce support for audiobooks in the store!

You would soon be able to download audiobooks from the Play Store.

Audiobooks have become quite common these days as many users like listening to them while doing other tasks such as cooking or driving. They appeal to a large section of people who do not like to read but can pay better attention if it is read out to them. This was something missing from the play store for quite a long time but is all set to debut with Google Play Store v8.4

The Google Play Store update has begun rolling out to few users, and Android Police managed to find lines of code referencing to audiobooks in the code of the app. It is worth pointing out that the actual feature is yet to debut, but is expected really soon. Another similar feature which has been spotted in the codes is that of app and game notifications.

The Google Play Store will soon show some important notifications pertaining to apps and games that users have downloaded – all at one place. A new notifications center will soon be a part of the play store where you can catch up with all your notifications. The Play Store has been getting a number of updates of late, the most recent being support for Android Instant Apps.

Another interesting update that’s coming with the new version of the Google Play Store is that it will soon be possible to auto-update just the system apps. If turned on, you’d have to manually update all the apps that you’ve installed. In addition to this, Google is also planning on introducing a deal-of-the-day kind of a promotional offer on the play store. These new features are already in the code and Google can activate them any time by a server-side update.
