Star Wars Vehicle Millennium Falcon Spotted Parked on Google Maps

Star Wars is one of the biggest movie franchises of all times. The series has been around since the 1970s and has captured the attention of generations of fans! The new trilogy of the famed movies started off in December 2015 with Episode VII. The sequel to the movie is all set to release next month, on the 15th of December. The filming has completed months ago, and some of the sets are now visible on Google Maps, including the legendary Millennium Falcon – the space ship owned by Han Solo and Chewbacca and by Rey following Han Solo’s death.

The Millennium Falcon has been spotted parked next to a Golf Course in Surrey! Set locations for Star Wards movies are usually kept hidden and secure so that no secrets regarding the movie spill out, as well as the expensive sets remain safe from any damage. the Millennium Falcon , which is one of the largest vehicles in the movie can’t be hidden for long!

It was easily identified via Google Maps because of its distinct shape and large size. As of now the fate of the spaceship in the movie is not known. It could possibly have been parked in that golf course near the studios for either filming in the third movie in the new trilogy, or simply kept there for a while because it might have been destroyed in the film.

It is not surprising that the Millennium Falcon has been spotted parked in Surrey because a significant portion of the movies have been shot in the UK. Made by Lucasfilms, the eighth movie in the Star Wars universe is all set to release on the 15th of December.

Android 8.1 Lets You Know Which Apps are Draining Battery Even When Screen Is Turned Off

Android 8.1 OS update is the latest version of the Android OS. While the update is still in it’s development phase, it has got some features which are attracting a large number of users. A newly discovered feature on Android 8.1 has caught the attention of many users. This feature informs the users about apps which are consuming the battery life even when the display is turned off. Over the years there have been a number of third party applications which allow the users to find out which apps have been consuming their battery. However, with the Android 8.1 OS update, Android has a native method for tracking which apps are consuming battery when the display is turned off. This is built-in in the settings menu and doesn’t come as a third-party app.

Battery life has been one of the biggest challenges with many Android smartphones. It becomes tough to pinpoint which apps are responsible for draining out the battery when display is turned off. This sort of a situation is called a ‘Wakelock’. Basically, when your screen is turned off, there are some apps which are still obtaining some information from your phone. This prevents the device from going into a deep sleep mode which conserves battery.

This Android 8.1 update shows you if there’s an app which is consuming a significant chunk of battery and not allowing the phone to go to deep sleep. Google always let you know which apps were draining battery when the screen was on. However, this update takes things one step forward.

This is a good update from Google. However, being present on Android Developers Preview does not guarantee that this feature will be released to the public at large when the final version of Android 8.1 comes out. Google has been actively trying to improve the battery life of Android smartphones for quite some time now.

A couple of years ago, Google introduced ‘Doze’ – which helped improved this deep sleep of smartphones. Google further improved upon it with Android Nougat. With Android Oreo, Google is letting the users know which apps are draining a significant portion of their battery, which will ensure that app-makers are cautious enough to not let that happen! Google Assistant Gets A New, Rounded Design

Why is everything on the internet getting rounder with every passing day? At this rate, it looks like we’ll soon be left with just a few circles carrying random pieces of information or pictures in a few years! Google has been adapting a rounder look and feel right from the days it introduced the material UI. However, things picked pace once Google started to roll out a new design style for the Google Feed and Google Search. The focus is now on the Google Assistant and this rounded design style is now coming to the assistant too.

This design style on the Google Assistant is not new. This has been around for the Pixel users and for the iOS users for some time now. However, Google has just begun to update all the devices with this new look and feel. The change is pretty noticeable actually. The color has been changed, and the boxed conversation has been changed to provide a more rounded feel. Even the options that appear as prompts on the bottom of the screen are now rounded.

In the past the background used to be grey in color. This has now been changed to a white colored background, which is another change users will notice in one glance. All the elements on the Google Assistant, including cards, carousels, and speech boxes now feature more rounded corners.

It appears like Google wants you to make use of the suggestion cards more as they have been provided a 3D look and feel. Even the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons have been made rounded along with that 3D feel. On another interesting note, the ‘share screenshot’ button has now made a comeback.

It’s not just Google because many apps and prominent networks have now been moving on to this look and feel. Over the past few months, Twitter, Facebook as well as YouTube have all gotten ’rounder’ when it comes to UI changes. Google too, does not want to be left behind!
