Last Week in Google Search: What Were People Looking Up For (November 6-12)

Google Search trends are an indicative of the times we are living in. Week on week, these search trends tell us what’s making the news and what is something that is capturing the attention of people. Let us take a quick look at the search trends of this past week of November 6 – 12:

Google Search Trends for the Last Week:

Last week, the trends were dominated by Starbucks, Blue Box Cafe, Harry Potter, Jennifer Aniston’s new show, and the CMA awwards. Let us take a deeper look:

Starbucks

Starbucks was among one of the most searched terms last week, thanks to their holiday drinks. The Buy One Get One (BOGO) deal was the most searched for. The most searched terms this week were:

  • “what drinks are included in the Starbucks BOGO?”
  • “what time is Starbucks buy one get one free?”
  • “Hot Chocolate”
  • “Peppermint Mocha”
  • “Flat White”

Surprisingly, the pumpkin spice latte was missing from the top terms this week, which is usually a Starbucks favorite!

Harry Potter

Niantic announced that they will be releasing an AR based, Harry Potter themed game next year, called Wizards Unite. Niantic is of course, the same company which made Pokemon Go. This has got the world of muggles excited and this is reflected in their search:

  • “Harry Potter Wizards Unite come out?”
  • “Is Harry Potter Wizards Unite real?”

In addition to this, the top three most searched Harry Potter characters were:

  • Harry Potter
  • Hermione Granger
  • Voldermort

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Tiffany and Co.’s Blue Box Cafe opened up in New York and this has got the residents of the Big Apple excited. People from and around the city were taking to Google to look up for more details on the place.

  • “Blue Box Cafe”
  • “How much would breakfast at Tiffany’s cost”
  • “What was Audrey eating in Breakfast at Tiffany’s opening scene?”

New York, New Jersey and Maryland were three places where a majority of these searches came from!

Jennifer Aniston’s New Show

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are all set to star on a new TV show which will be about the life of two morning TV Show anchors. This has got the interwebs excited and this is what people have been looking up for:

  • “What have Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon been in together?”
  • “Are Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston friends?”
  • “Just Go With It”
  • “Home Again”

Country Music Awards

The 51st annual Country Music Awards took place last week. This got all the country music fans buzzing and country music was heavily searched on Google! Here are some top trends:

  • “CMA Award Winners”
  • “CMA Lip Sync”

Most searches came from Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama.
