In what comes as a rather surprising move from Samsung, the 2015 Samsung flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S6 might be getting the Android Oreo OS update! This is surprising because usually older devices do not enjoy this privilege as the latest update comes only to the current flagship and the previous one.
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S6, which was arguably one of the worst flagship devices Samsung ever made, will get a refreshed experience once the Android Oreo OS update rolls out.
Reddit user CyberConCoder reportedly spoke with a Samsung representative about the matter, and was told that there will be an Oreo update for the aging flagship. The Samsung representative who gave them the information claimed to have spoken with a supervisor about it, and was confident enough in the information to directly authorize CyberConCoder to share it with the Reddit community.
As of now we’re still waiting an official announcement but if this is true, this will indeed be a great news for the users of the Samsung Galaxy S6!

Amazon has now announced a new Kindle application, which is a ‘lite’ version of their existing app. This application is smaller in size and stripped down in terms of features, but it is good for users who do not have access to high speed data as well as enough space on their phone. Kindle Lite is a 2 MB application which can run smoothly in 2G networks too!
This Kindle Lite Android app has been designed keeping in mind the needs of Indian smartphone users and it is not likely that the app will be released in other geographies.
Of late, ‘Lite’ apps have become quite the trend! There are many developers who have one primary app which is bloated with a number of features and functions, along with a ‘lite’ app which is a stripped down version of the same. The Kindle Lite app is still in beta – but it is likely to hit the Google Play Store soon.
