November 2017 Android Security Update Comes to Xiaomi Mi A1 and HTC U11 Life
Android One powered smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi A1 and the HTC U11 Life were both announced in the second half of this year. Today, users of both these phones have started getting the November 2017 Android Security Update. These timely updates are among the best reasons as to why people prefer to buy Android One devices.
Xiaomi and HTC were both known for their custom ROMs – the MIUI and the HTC Sense. However, with the Xiaomi Mi A1 and the HTC U11 Life, the companies came out with their first Android One smartphone – and it has already begun to pay off in the forms of updates!

One of the biggest reasons as to why people prefer to buy Android One smartphones is the fact that they come with guaranteed updates. The November 2017 Android Security Update is the latest security update released by Google for all Android smartphones running the stock Android OS.
Android One powered devices such as the Xiaomi Mi A1 and the HTC U11 Life will not only get these monthly security updates, but also regular Android OS Updates for the next two years. This isn’t really the case when it comes to other custom ROM powered smartphones.

Smartphones running on custom ROMs need major modifications in the monthly Android security patches. They aren’t really regular in terms of updates. However that isn’t the case with Android One smartphones.
The arrival of the November 2017 Android Security Update on Xiaomi Mi A1 and HTC U11 Life means that both these phones are now up to date when it comes to security and protection and are not vulnerable to any recent threats which Google might have fixed with this update – giving them an edge over other smartphones. If you own these devices, make sure to check for the November 2017 Android Security Update today!

Businesses Can Now Directly Be Messaged on Google Allo via Google Maps
The latest update to Google Maps now allows users to contact businesses over Google Maps with the help of Google Allo. This is an interesting feature and will help promote the use of Allo, as well as improve communication between businesses and users. Moreover, it will also help in customer support.
When Google released Google Allo chat application last year, it seemed like it was heading towards nowhere in the long run. However, the company kept releasing a number of updates and kept improving Allo over the months. However, with this update – it looks like Allo finally has some purpose.
If you notice the screenshot above, you’ll notice that the fourth option on the first image from the left is that of ‘message’. In the past, this used to be ‘Share’ or ‘Download’ depending on what type of places you’ve clicked up on. However, following this update to Google Maps, you will now be able to contact businesses and message them in one tap!
The second image shows the default message the business sends you to initiate the chat. This is indeed an interesting update from Google and it appears that Allo is now competing with the Facebook Messenger.
The Facebook Messenger too, has been an effective tool of communication between companies and users for years now. Recent updates have introduced bots which help users troubleshoot problems, as well as communicate with company representatives.
Similar to the Facebook Messenger, this Google Allo integration in Google Maps too, has a default message which is displayed first. Moreover, another striking similarity is the response time – as Google Maps will tell you how quick a business is in responding to messages! This will ensure that companies respond faster to keep customers satisfied as response rate information is publicly visible. As of now there’s no word if this is a country-specific update, but we’re likely to know more over the next few days.
