Imagine getting a link to a YouTube video from a friend or seeing something interesting on Reddit that really catches your attention. The only problem is you’re at work or travelling with spotty internet with precious data which you’ve reserved exclusively for apps like Instagram and Snapchat.
Here’s a handy little app to save those videos to your YouTube Watch Later playlist right then and there, consequently saving you of the lengthy ordeal of having to open the link in the YouTube app, waiting for it to load to finally hit the icon to add to a playlist.
The app, Watch Later is from a relatively unknown company called Lambdasoup. The app asks for only vital permissions like identity, contacts & full network access that’s necessary to sync videos to your YouTube account. Upon installing the app all you have to do is link your Google account tied to the YouTube account that’s actively used.
Select the YouTube link and press the Watch Later button
Once that’s accomplished, click on the YouTube link you want to save and you’ll see a list of options like Chrome, YouTube, & Watch Later. This is because installing the app resets your default app preferences for opening YouTube links. Now, select the option Watch Later and you’ll be presented with a pop-up dialogue confirmation after the video is added. It’s as simple as that.
Of course, if you have multiple accounts, the app will ask each time to select which account you want to save it to unless a default preference is set. Then you can open the YouTube app whenever you find the time and watch those videos which would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
Now, no more waiting for the YouTube app to open, adding the video to playlists and finally selecting “Watch Later” playlist. Just one click and you are done.
