Mercedes-Benz, well known for its high-quality vehicles, has designed and created a limited edition surfboard. Unfortunately they won’t be available to just anyone, as they were created for use on the enormous waves that grace the shores of Nazare Canyon, on the coast of Portugal.
The company worked in collaboration with pro-surfer Garrett McNamara, who surfed an estimated 95ft wave back in 2011. The advertising agency BBDO also had an input on the project. As well as being able to surf a wave, the board also enables the surfer to measure their performance thanks to the built-in telementary system.
Named the Silver Arrow, the surfboard will have a production number of just four and were specifically designed for McNamara. “I am happy they’ve built boards for riding fast,” says McNamara.
