How do I restore the file association for shortcut (.lnk) files?

I was checking all programs what happened is I gave a right-click on one of my program Avast and there was one option called “open with” and I by mistake clicked on Adobe Acrobat 0.7 and all my other programs were showing same icon of Adobe Acrobat 0.7 and all programs worked as one.
