Can I backup Windows ME to a solid state drive?

Hey! I have problem: I have an old Windows ME laptop computer, that has a broken screen. I’m going to try to find a replacement screen, but I would like to get Linux running on the machine as well.

So my question is: Is there a way to “backup” the whole operating system with all the files to an SSD so I can have all of my operating system backed up in case something goes wrong?
