Google Voice is among one of the most popular services that Google has to offer. It has been around for over 8 years now and has tens of thousands of users using it. Occasionally there have been a few bugs in the service and Google tends to fix them as soon as they can. Earlier this year Google Voice users reported a bug that was causing notifications to not appear properly. A newly spotted bug is denying these users from accessing notifications.
Google Voice Bug: Users Not Receiving SMS Messages
A number of users are now complaining on Google’s forums regarding this issue. The original post on the Google forums reads that a user who uses 4 to 5 numbers for business purposes is able to send the messages to her clients but is not able to receive their responses. Following this incident more users began to report the problem. This SMS messages issue seems to be happening on the Android app as well as the web version of Google Voice.
Google, to their credit, was quick to respond to this. “Thanks for reporting the issue you are experiencing with SMS messages. We’re currently investigating. Please stay tuned for updates. I’ll post back when I have anything to share.” Google began working on the issue as soon as it was brought to their notice.
Reportedly a few users have begun receiving text messages on their Google Voice numbers again. However there are still a large number of people who are yet to get the fix. This is a crucial feature as text messaging is the basic need for any phone number. Google is yet to post updates on the thread as of now.
