An Android Wear developer has recently confirmed on Google Plus that the Android Oreo OS update is finally coming to wearable devices! When Android Wear 2.0 was announced last year, it was based on Android Nougat OS. This is the first major update coming to the system since its launch.
Here are the four major changes which are coming to Android Wear devices after this Android Oreo update:
- Notification vibration strength setting
- Touch lock option for wet conditions
- Support for 7 new countries / languages
- Notification channels, battery saving background limits and more
Wearable Android tech has been picking pace over the past few years but hasn’t grown as big as Google would have imagined it to be. Nevertheless, wearable Android devices are used by millions of users across the world. If you are using any of these Wear 2.0 devices, check for updates starting today!
