The upcoming version of Google Chrome, Chrome 64, which is currently in Beta – is all set to bring in an interesting feature to the browser : parallel downloads. Parallel downloads make way for faster download speeds. This is an incredible feature and it makes faster speeds possible by creating parallel tasks to download files.
This Chrome 64 feature is quite similar to the way downloads are handled by download manager apps such as Internet Download Manager. The effect of this feature will not be visible while downloading smaller files, but when it comes to large files, you will see a remarkable improve in the consistency of download speeds.
Parallel downloads are currently enabled in the Chrome Canary build for Chrome 64, as well as the Chrome Dev version. However, the Beta version of Google Chrome is yet to get it. The update is expected to roll out shortly for the beta users.
