Google Photos Tab To Be Removed From Google Drive Starting January 2018

Ever since Google introduced Google Photos a couple of years ago, it has prominently been accessible via Google Drive. A tab on Google Drive allows users to quickly switch from Drive to Photos. However, starting January 2018, this integration is going to be no longer be supported.

As of this writing the tab is available on both, the web version of Google Drive, as well as the Android and iOS app. However starting next month, Google Drive is going to remove this tab from the navigation drawer. The quick way to access Photos from Google Drive might be getting removed, but the integration between the two still exists.

Moreover, users could bring back the shortcut if they want to by enabling an option from the settings which allows them to  “Create a Google Photos folder” to “automatically put your Google Photos into a folder in My Drive.”
