How To Sort Emails in Gmail by Oldest (Quick Tip)
By default, Gmail shows you the 50 most recent emails you have received in your inbox. This setup works fine for day to day work where the latest emails are of the highest priority. However, if you need to work on very old emails, then moving to them page by page is impractical. The good thing is Gmail allows you to sort emails by the oldest first so you won’t have to skip page by page. And this feature works in all types of inboxes, whether you are in the main inbox, sent items, or promotions.
Here’s how to use this feature. While inside the inbox hover your mouse cursor over the message count at the top right corner. A menu will pop up with the options “Newest” and “Oldest”. Just select “Oldest” here and all the emails in the inbox will be sorted by the oldest first.
If you have a well-organized Gmail inbox with inbox-zero achieved and you receive hundreds of emails every day, then this feature will also make it easier for you to view older unread emails first.

Here is the Easiest Way To Insert a Video in Google Drive
Although, you can add links to direct the user to a video site (like YouTube) in Google Docs, but the functionality to play the video inside a Google Docs document isn’t available. There can be many situations when you may need to embed a video in a Google Docs document, but even a third-party tool can’t help you achieve this.
I have tried many solutions to add a video in Google Docs, but only a single solution seemed to be reliable enough without forcing the recipients to install a special tool. If you are looking to insert a video in a Google Docs document, then today I will show you how to do it easily for free.
Note: For this method to work, the recipients of the document must have editing rights.
Insert a video in a Google Docs document
Google Docs may not support videos, but it’s drawing tool does accept video format and even allows playback. However, the drawing tool itself doesn’t have the option to insert a video. This is where you’ll need the help of another tool to create a playable video link that you could paste inside the drawing tool. And for this purpose, we are going to use the Google Slides app that does accept video playback. Let’s start:
Create a playable video link in Google Slides
1. Go to Google Slides and create a new presentation
2. Here click in the middle of the slide to select it and then go to the “Insert” menu and select “Video” from it.
3. Now you can either paste a YouTube video link or open a video saved inside your Google Drive. Choose the desired method to attach the video.
4. Once the video is added, click on it and then press Ctrl+C keys to copy it to the clipboard.
Add video in Google Docs
Now that you have the playable video link, let’s add it in Google Docs:
1. In the Google Docs document, click on the “Insert” menu and select “New” from the “Drawing” option.
2. Press Ctrl+V keys to paste the video link inside the drawing tool and click on the “Save and Close” button.
3. This will add the video inside the Google Docs document with a full preview.
The recipient can double-click on the video to open it in the drawing tool and then click on it once again to play it.
Ending words
Honestly, Google Docs should natively support video playback at least for YouTube and videos added from Google Drive. Google Drive also has a built-in video player which could be used to play videos in Google Docs. But until that happens, you can use the above method with minor limitations.
If you know any other more reliable way to insert videos in Google Docs, do share it with us in the comments section.

Fix “we are unable to process your request at this time” Google Adsense Error
Last month my Adsense dashboard stopped working. It would give a quick glimpse of the dashboard and then the below-mentioned error would come up.
“We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process your request at this time. Our engineers have been notified of this problem and will work to resolve it.”
I searched for it online and got the answer that my ad blocker is causing the issue. As I was using the Opera browser with a built-in ad blocker, I just had to disable it from the settings. However, that didn’t work for me so I had to experiment with different settings to fix it.
Of course, I managed to fix it with a good 2 hours of work. And if you are facing the same issue, then I’ll show you how to fix it in this post so you won’t have to go through the hard work.
What causes this Google Adsense error?
To ensure that the problem was with my browser, I accessed Adsense from a different browser and it started working fine. So I just had to fix my browser. I have tried multiple solutions including, deleting browser data, reset settings, and enabling/disabling features like third-party cookies and javascript, etc. None of it fixed it.
Interestingly, what fixed the issue was part of the new Opera adblocker feature. Therefore, the tracking blocker feature of opera. It seems when you use a third-party tracking blocker tool, it breaks Google Adsense and shows this error. There are many tracking blocker tools available online and many ad blockers come with this feature built-in.
If you are using any tool to block trackers while browsing, then it is probably the reason why you are seeing this Google Adsense error.
How to fix this Google Adsense error?
Fixing this issue is as simple as stopping the use of whatever tracking blocker tool you are using. However, if you must use this tool for privacy, then you can also create a filter to disable it on Google Adsense only.
As I don’t know which tracking blocker you are using, I can’t provide precise instructions to disable it on Google Adsense. However, all such tools come with the option to whitelist websites on which you don’t want to use the tool. Just go to the whitelist option of the tool and enter this URL “https://www.google.com”. This should white list the Google domain, including Google Adsense while your tracking blocker will work fine on other websites.
Tip: The tracking tool only affects the desktop version of Google Adsense, the mobile version still works fine. If you need to quickly check your account without disabling trackers, then you can use this URL “https://www.google.com/adsense/m/”.
Conclusion
For me disabling the tracking blocker on Google Adsense was enough to fix the issue. However, if the problems persist for you even after this, then I will recommend you disable your ad blocker and clear browsing data. You can also try using a different browser that may fix the issue. If you have any questions, do let us know in the comments below.

How To Block or Unblock Someone on Gmail
Is there someone annoying you on Gmail? Well, if it’s a particular spam newsletter than you may use the unsubscribe button in the email to get rid of it. However, if it’s a regular user like you and me, then you’ll have to specifically block them using one of the Gmail options. You can block users on Gmail and all of their messages will be directly sent to the spam folder and deleted automatically after 30 days.
Blocking users is a great way to keep annoying emails out of your inbox while still keeping access to them for at least 30 days. And today I will show you how to block someone on Gmail and also how to unblock someone on Gmail in case you have a change of heart.
Block someone on Gmail
To block someone on Gmail, you must receive an email from them first. If you have the email in your inbox, follow the below instructions to block them:
Step #1: Open up the sender’s email and click on the “More” button at the top-right corner.
Step #2: Here click on the Block “Sender’s name” option and confirm the prompt that comes up.
That’s it, the sender will be blocked and all their future emails will be sent to your spam folder. You will also get a prompt to move the current email to spam as well.
Unblock someone on Gmail
If you change your mind after blocking someone on Gmail, then you can easily undo this from Gmail settings. Below you’ll find the step-by-step instructions:
Step #1: Click on the “Gear” icon at the top-right corner of your inbox and select “Settings” from it.
Step #2: Now move to the “Filters and Blocked Addresses” tab.
Step #3: Here you will see a full list of blocked senders. Simply click on “Unblock” next to the sender you would like to unblock.
This will unblock the sender and all their future emails will now go to your inbox. However, the emails already sent to spam will stay in the spam folder, you’ll have to manually move them back to the inbox.
Bonus method
The above instructions are enough to block or unblock someone on Gmail. However, if you want to directly delete messages of someone upon arrival or block an email address from which you haven’t received an email yet, then that is possible as well.
To do so, click on the upside-down arrow at the end of the Search bar at the top.
Enter the email address in the “From” section and click on “Create filter” at the bottom.
Now check the checkbox next to “Delete it” and click on “Create filter”.
This will create a filter that will delete all the emails from the email address as soon as they arrive. To undo this, you will have to go to the same “Filters and Blocked Addresses” section in Gmail settings and delete this filter.
Ending words
The block option in Gmail can be used for blocking both regular users and company newsletters. Although for the latter, I will recommend you to use the unsubscribe option as it lets the company know that you are not interested in their emails and should exclude you from the email list. If you have any questions, do let us know in the comments below.
