Recently I discovered that someone got my WiFi password and deleted a lot of files from my share folders (more or less 30 FB, ouch!!). I learnt the lesson and now my WiFi is better protected: I changed to WPA2, hid the access point and restricted the access to certain MAC addresses and I have just finished reinstalling the OS just in case it was an undetected malware . Still I don’t feel secure enough and I was wondering if it is possible to limit the Wifi access to my shared folder (win 7 pc) just to a couple of devices: my notebook (win 7) and my cellphone (android kitkat), taking into account that I also have a media player (Xtreamer SD1) connected to the router via ethernet (it’s the main reason for the shared folders).

Got a crazy one. If an application or program such as Firefox, Chrome, Thunderbird, uTorrent or iTunes needs to go online to get its info, it takes 10 or more minutes to open. Once open, they work fine. Other programs such as Photoshop, Explorer or ones that do not need web access open in seconds as normal. I have cleared caches, system files etc and even uninstalled/reinstalled programs but it makes no difference. Any solutions without a total restore?

Is it a good idea to update Java on production PCs and laptops?

How long should I wait before eventually updating Java if at all? I currently have the ones on the machines I am looking over at Version 7 Update 51. The current version stands at Update 67.

I say this because I have found updating Java has broken certain web functionalities. I had an application that I managed via Java and updating to ’67′ broke my ability to view and manage this application. Adding exclusions and exceptions to the Exception Site List did not fix that issue. This was only been resolved by rolling back the Java update.

With that history, you see my reluctance. Your help is appreciated.

I have a 2013 Moto G and am running a fairly decent tumblr client called Stumbler Prime.

Unlike the official tumblr app, I can’t get it to play nice with the other apps and share or be shared to. Is this likely to be an app drawback or is there something I’m missing?

Every other app has its account listed on the phone’s settings menu and I can share to all of them.

I have a ASUS A55VM running Windows 7 64 bit. Since a format & reinstall, the scroll on my touchpad isn’t working, nor do my volume keys on the keyboard. I’ve tried all the drivers (ASUS and non-ASUS). None work. When i try to install any, it tells me they haven’t been installed correctly. It gives me 2 choices (1. Install with recommended settings, 2. This programme is installed correctly). Neither work. I don’t know how to sort this problem out. Please help.

Why can’t I connecto to PCs using GoToAssis 2.1 once the machines have been rebooted?

I am using GoToAssist 2.1 Build 715. When I start a remote session with my users, after doing a manual reboot of their machine (not using the option for reboot within the GoToAssist console), I cannot reconnect to their machine using GoToAssist on any future occasion.

Their PCs have been restarted numerous times but whenever I engage them in the session, directing them to the URL and providing the support key, the page tells tehm they are connected but I see nothing on my end. They are not listed under the unattended machines list. There is no consensus box near the taskbar for them to agree to or anything like that. I’ve seen the same behaviour on two PC’s now. How can I address this?
